Learn to crochet sleeping mats out of plastic bags for the unhoused population in our community. No experience needed. Supplies provided.
Join our teen volunteer, Grace, for an influential humanitarian project! This program will be for ages 12+. Our volunteer will be teaching participants basic crocheting skills with plastic bags to help create sleeping mats for the unhoused population. The first session will be mandatory as it will be the learning session. Each session after that will be open for participants to come and work on their mats. We ask participants to try and come as often as possible since a lot of work goes into creating these mats and we want to make as many as possible for the community.
No experience is needed. There will be volunteers to teach you and help you throughout the process! Materials will be provided.
Registration is required. All Makerspace activities require closed toe shoes and completed Foundry Waiver & Safety Playbook forms. These can be acquired at the Service Desk or online at https://www.pascolibraries.org/makerspaces/the-foundry/ Minors forms must be completed by a parent/guardian. Please review and comply with all safety protocols.
