Learn and improve your gardening skills with our Master Gardeners - today's topic is an overview of tomatoes and how to successfully grow them in Central Florida.

An overview of tomatoes and how to successfully grow them in Central Florida. We will talk about their origin and how they were introduced into western culture. A look at why we grow tomatoes differently in Florida than other parts of the country, the time we plant can be one of the biggest keys to success. An understanding of heirloom vs hybrid and determinate vs nondeterminate plants and is one better than the other. What are all those funny letters on the back of the label. Finally, a look at most of the insect problems a Florida grower will experience.
