RAIL: Hands-On Robotics for Tweens

Come have some robot fun with RAIL (Robotics Advancement in Libraries), a hands-on robotics program where kids ages 8-12 can explore robotics through fun, interactive challenges.

This program is for ages 8-12.

Participants will work in small groups and rotate through three activity stations:

• Line tracking Challenge - Create and experiment with paths for a robot to follow using its line-tracking sensors.
• Maze Programming Challenge - Program a robot to navigate through a maze using simple coding commands.
• Obstacle Course Navigation - Manually guide a robot through an obstacle course while testing navigation and control skills. 

No prior robotics or coding experience is required. This beginner-friendly program encourages kids to experiment, problem-solve, work together, and discover different ways robots can sense, move, and respond.

Space is limited to 12 participants to ensure every child gets hands-on time with the robots. Registration is required.

RAIL was created by high school student Ana Thomas as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award project to expand access to hands-on Stem and robotics learning through local libraries.
